Often, when I’m soldering a project I use a piggyback PCB solution to help save space inside enclosures. I made the following graphics to help with choosing the right enclosures, maybe this helps with your project too:
Variant 2 is for when soldering on perfboard where you have to push the plastic spacer of the male pin header all the way to the end in order to be able to solder on the side with the copper plating.
